Washington, D.C.: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived at the White House on Tuesday for formal bilateral talks with U.S. President Donald Trump. The high-level meeting is expected to result in the signing of major agreements covering defense cooperation, trade, and strategic partnerships between the two nations, according to diplomatic sources.
Mohammed bin Salman was received with a state-level welcome as U.S. military jets performed a V-formation flyover, cannons fired ceremonial salutes, and the U.S. Marine Corps band played in honor of the Saudi leader’s arrival. President Trump welcomed the crown prince at the South Portico before both leaders proceeded inside for official discussions.
Officials familiar with the visit said several agreements are set to be finalized, including a significant defense deal involving the sale of advanced F-35 stealth fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. Additional business and investment contracts are also expected to strengthen political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The visit marks the crown prince’s first trip to Washington in more than seven years and comes at a time when both nations are seeking to enhance defense collaboration and deepen strategic ties across various sectors.
