The Yemeni government air force launched a series of airstrikes on Saturday targeting Houthi missile and drone launch sites, along with weapons depots, in the provinces of Marib and Al-Jawf, according to two Yemeni military officials.

The strikes targeted military positions located along the front line between government forces and the Iran-aligned Houthi movement. Officials described the operation as one of the first major offensive air campaigns carried out by the internationally recognized Yemeni government in recent months amid renewed fighting.

According to military sources, the operation aimed to destroy missile launch platforms, drone infrastructure, and ammunition storage facilities that were allegedly being used to threaten government-controlled territories and regional security.

The renewed military action comes as tensions continue to rise across Yemen, where the conflict has entered its second decade. Despite periods of reduced violence following previous ceasefire efforts, clashes between Yemeni government forces and the Houthis have intensified in several frontline areas.

Military officials stated that the strikes were conducted based on intelligence identifying strategic military assets belonging to the Houthi movement. The government has not yet released an official assessment of the damage, while Houthi authorities have not publicly commented on the reported airstrikes.

The latest escalation highlights the fragile security situation in Yemen and raises concerns about the potential for broader military confrontations in the region. Analysts believe continued hostilities could further complicate humanitarian conditions and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a lasting political settlement.

As the situation develops, regional observers will closely monitor whether the air campaign marks the beginning of a larger military offensive by Yemeni government forces.
