Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Monday lauded the Pakistan military’s contributions towards regional peace and security in a meeting with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Monday, according to the military’s media wing.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is on an official visit to Jordan, where he met with King Abdullah II. The meeting was also attended by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.
The ISPR reported that both leaders discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, with a strong emphasis on expanding bilateral cooperation in defence and security, as well as sharing perspectives on key regional developments.
The statement added that King Abdullah II praised the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability. He expressed a keen interest in deepening defence collaboration between the two friendly nations. In response, the army chief conveyed warm greetings from the government, people, and armed forces of Pakistan, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to stronger ties with Jordan.
COAS General Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to deepening fraternal ties with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
During his visit, he met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, at the General Headquarters in Amman. Upon arrival, the COAS was presented with a guard of honour.
Both sides reiterated the historic and deep-rooted military relations between Pakistan and Jordan. Major General Al-Huneiti lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their exceptional contributions to peace and regional stability.
The visit to Jordan followed COAS Munir’s tour of Egypt, where he and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi emphasized the importance of stronger strategic coordination and expanded cooperation in defence, technology, and economic domains — reflecting a shared resolve to strengthen bilateral ties.
