Iran has confirmed the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri, following severe injuries sustained during recent military operations. The announcement was made through an official statement issued by the Revolutionary Guards, as reported by Iranian state media on Monday.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz stated on 26 March that Israeli Defence Forces had carried out a precise operation eliminating Commander Tangsiri along with several senior naval command officials.
The development follows a series of joint US-Israeli military strikes against Iran, which began on 28 February. Since then, Israel has announced the elimination of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and influential security chief Ali Larijani.
In recent days, Israeli forces have conducted multiple airstrikes targeting Iranian naval infrastructure. Strikes have hit several Iranian naval vessels in the Caspian Sea, including ships equipped with missile systems, support vessels, and patrol craft.
