Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has accused the United States of repeatedly breaching a memorandum of understanding signed by the presidents of Iran and the US.
In a written statement released on Saturday, Khamenei argued that the alleged violations demonstrated that US President Donald Trump’s signature was “utterly worthless and devoid of credibility.”
His comments came as Washington and Tehran continued exchanging military strikes following the collapse of a temporary ceasefire agreement. The renewed fighting has raised concerns that the conflict could develop into a wider regional war.
Iran Warns of Further Consequences
Khamenei warned that continued American military action could bring serious consequences. He said the Iranian nation and the groups Tehran describes as the “resistance front” had “unforgettable lessons” for the United States.
The language signals growing distrust between the two governments and suggests that reaching another diplomatic agreement may become increasingly difficult.
