India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu jointly declared that India and Israel will oppose terrorism in all forms and stand “shoulder to shoulder” in combating global threats, as Modi concluded his two‑day visit to Jerusalem focused on strengthening strategic cooperation.
Addressing the media alongside Netanyahu, Modi emphasized that “there is no place for terrorism in the world.” He added that the two democracies are committed to deepening collaboration not only in security but also across technology, energy, trade, and innovation.
During the visit, leaders highlighted progress on a potential free trade agreement and expanded investment ties, including plans to introduce India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to the Israeli market — a move expected to accelerate digital payments integration.
“Together, we will move forward towards joint development, joint production, and the transfer of technology,” Modi said, marking a new chapter in bilateral relations.
More than a dozen agreements were signed in fields such as education, artificial intelligence, and geophysical exploration, underlining the wide‑ranging agenda of the partnership.
Despite strong ties with Israel, India continues to balance its regional approach by maintaining support for a peaceful Middle East and Palestinian statehood, reflecting its longstanding diplomatic stance.
Modi reiterated India’s interest in durable peace and regional stability, while Israel described its relationship with India as deep and growing.
