Pakistan condemns Israeli airstrikes in Gaza as violations of international law and ceasefire

Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s latest airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, calling the attacks a violation of international law and the ceasefire that came into effect on Oct. 10.

In an official statement, the Foreign Ministry said Israel’s actions have resulted in the deaths of several Palestinian civilians, including women and children, while many others have been injured. The ministry described the attacks as “unacceptable and contrary to international humanitarian principles and UN resolutions.”

The statement came after reports confirmed that at least 22 Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces targeted residential homes and a vehicle in different areas of Gaza on Saturday, marking a fresh violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Pakistan warned that such continued assaults undermine global diplomatic efforts aimed at securing sustainable peace and stability in the Middle East. The ministry urged the international community to take immediate action to stop Israeli violations and ensure accountability under international law.

Islamabad reaffirmed its long-standing position in support of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders and East Jerusalem (Al-Quds Al-Sharif) as the capital.

Under the current ceasefire arrangement, Israel has retained control of more than half of Gaza, marked by a “yellow line” separating Israeli military deployment zones from areas still inhabited by Palestinian civilians.

Since October 2023, Israeli military operations have killed nearly 70,000 people in Gaza, the majority being women and children, while causing massive destruction to the region.
