🔴 Ministers Condemn "Horrifying" Violence in El-Fasher
Speaking at the Manama Dialogue security summit in Bahrain, UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper described the situation in Sudan as a “humanitarian crisis and devastating conflict”, criticizing the lack of international response.
She stated:
“Mass executions, starvation, and the devastating use of rape as a weapon of war — women and children are bearing the brunt of the largest humanitarian crisis of the 21st century. For too long, this conflict has been neglected.”

⚠️ UN Warns of Atrocities in Darfur
The United Nations has warned that RSF fighters have rampaged through El-Fasher, killing hundreds of civilians and committing ethnically targeted attacks.
According to UN officials, more than 450 people were killed in a hospital, with reports of mass executions and sexual violence.
Although the RSF denied involvement, satellite imagery and witness accounts suggest widespread destruction.
🌐 International Reaction
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called the situation “absolutely apocalyptic”, while Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said Sudan has not received “the attention it deserves.”
“We’ve got to stop this humanitarian tragedy,” Safadi said, urging stronger international coordination to halt the bloodshed.

📊 Background
Since April 2023, Sudan’s army and RSF have been locked in a brutal power struggle that has displaced over 15 million people and killed around 20,000, according to UN data.
Efforts by regional and global mediators have repeatedly failed to reach a lasting ceasefire.
Call for Urgent Action
The joint statement from the three foreign ministers calls on all parties to lay down their arms and allow humanitarian aid access.
“No amount of aid can resolve a crisis of this magnitude until the guns fall silent,” Cooper emphasized.
